Local favorites the Musers and Evie Ladin Band join forces for an energetic double-bill show that will lift your spirits and get your toes tapping! Don’t miss this great show with two of our finest Bay Area bands.
Tickets are $30 GA, $25 for OCA members. Fine refreshments available, art gallery open during intermission. OCA is wheelchair accessible.
The Musers return to OCA with their free - range folk, from right here in Sonoma County. Anita Bear Sandwina plays banjolin, fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Megan McLaughlin plays guitar and mandolin, Tom Kuhn plays upright bass, and Leslie Jackson plays Cajón and body percussion. Anita and Megan met singing backups at a friend's show. From the first shared notes, they knew they had found a sister-like blend. Both are award winning songwriters, taking West Coast competitions whenever they show up. Together with Tom’s voice adding a third part, and those funky bass grooves, soaring harmonies and award - winning songwriting, the Musers are spreading joy wherever they go with their foot - stomping, positive, high energy shows.
Evie Ladin Band
Tenacious, innovative string musicians, the Evie Ladin Band – Evie Ladin, Keith Terry and Erik Pearson – throw down captivating, truly entertaining live shows. Grounded in Appalachian old-time repertoire, seasoned in African-diaspora roots, writing from life in modern cities, blurring the lines between music and dance, the polyrhythmic heat of Evie’s clawhammer banjo, resonant voice, real stories and rhythmic dance have been heard from A Prairie Home Companion to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Their performance experience is a stand-out. Following their fourth release of adventurous originals Caught On A Wire and Evie’s first totally trad fiddle/banjo duets Riding the Rooster – the band released an EP of funky covers Playing our Hand.
